Solo exhibition ‘The Pulsating Earth’ (Palma de Mallorca, Spain)

In Buddhism, cave is often compared to womb of Buddha, and there is a legend of that if a person engage in deep introspection while he is walking through a cave, the man will feel as if he had reborn. From this legend, cave has been sanctified as a place to look at the origin of the person. So, what is the origin for all living creatures on the earth? That is the sea.

I obtained salt from seawater and created a salt crystal cave inside of the telescope ‘to look into’. I think that the growth process of crystal is similar to our life or history, and wish viewer look back on their roots and man’s relationship with natural environment.
